Factions are groups that exist in the Dreamworld that are able to grant special powers to their members or champions. These range in design from the militant organization of the Templars, the cacophony of the Reaper initiation, the club-like approach of the Soul Traders, and many more. Each faction has Requirements, a granted gift, and 10 or more powers that their members can earn through different means and are only available to faction members.
Requirements
A faction's requirements are met through role-play and interaction with that faction and faction leader. Becoming a member is straightforward and you are granted a gift as soon as you meet the requirements to join.

Power Cards
All Factions use Power Crystal Cards to regulate their abilities and gifts. These are specialized crystal shards that can be bound or unbound at the Soulforge like normal shards. What makes them unique is that they do not require ability points to unlock and they cannot be stolen or traded away, even when unbound. Your power cards belong to you alone.
Power cards can only be granted by the Faction Leader or contact and usually require you to perform additional tasks to earn. You may only earn one per event and you will receive the crystal the following event. Speak with a faction member or the faction leader at an event to learn more about the tasks or trials of their faction.
Landless Factions
Worldshaper, Ritualist, Underworld Champion, and Voice of the Aether are landless Factions. Learning these lists count against your faction slots but you are not bound to an in-game group or political faction, or ideology. When you learn a power from these lists you can teach it to others once you have acquired the physical card.

Note: You may only join and benefit from a maximum of 2 factions in a character's lifetime. While most are compatible, not everyone's goals align and some factions outright oppose one another. The following rules apply when joining a faction:
- You cannot be both a Templar and a Reaper.
- You can only be one of the following: Templar, Soul Trader, Chaos Knight, or Warbringer.
- You cannot be a member of both Fey Courts, although you may switch factions if the leaders allow for it.
- You cannot be a Worldshaper and a Reaper or Soul Trader.
- You cannot be a Voice of the Aether and an Underworld Champion.
