Each realm has its own way of handling the exchange of goods and services. Most employ some form of currency which is endorsed by a large faction, government, or organization that is powerful enough to support the value of its money. Listed below is the most prominent currencies used in each realm (or part of a realm) that is connected to the dreaming.

Currency in the Dreamworld
Many Dreamworld denizens deal in soul stones which are composed of an unknown material, nicknamed "soul stuff," which can be harvested from living beings that don't belong to the Dreamworld. Soul Stones also form naturally in the dreamworld and can be mined with simple tools or found on the ground. Some denizens not only use them as currency but also value them as power, fuel, or even food. Inert soul stones exist as well, and appear to be bits of gold or silver to the untrained eye. They are worth the same amount regardless of their color.
  • 1 Inert stone can buy a simple meal.
  • 1 Inert stone is worth 2 units of any other currency.
  • 5 Inert stones can buy lodging for one night in a shared room.
  • 1 Living Soul Stone is worth the same as 50 inert stones.
  • 1 Living Soul Stone is worth the same as 100 units of any other realm's currency.

Mundania

Mundies use regular earth currency with printed values. Their notes and coins have almost no inherent value from the materials they are made of. They are printed in the following denominations:
  • Coins: Pennies, Dimes, Nickles, Quarters, Half-Dollars, and 1 Dollar.
  • Bills: $1, $5, $10, $20, $50, and $100

New Zygaxia

This world uses coins that are plain or branded with the symbol of a city-state or kingdom. Some coins are ancient and bear worn markings of a previous era. Others have begun to oxidize because they were brought across the sea by humans visiting from Burark. The metals used as coin are considered precious with no widespread industrial or scientfic use in Zygaxia.
  • Copper pieces are the lowest denomination.
  • Silver pieces are worth 10 copper pieces.
  • Gold pieces are worth 10 silver pieces, or 100 copper pieces.

Planet X

Spacers carry a digital credit system that can be used to transfer currency between accounts. Credit chips are translucent and display a digital value for the amount currently on them when a passcode or fingerprint is entered. As not every backwater world accepts credit, most travelers going to worlds like Planet X also carry "Bits." Bits are made of titanium and cut in different shapes for aliens races who do not see in the same color spectrum. Each also has a slang name associated with them.
  • Daggers (red triangles) are worth 1 credit.
  • Diamonds (green squares) are worth 10 credits.
  • Shields (blue circles) are worth 100 credits.
  • Sirens (silver octagons) are worth 1000 credits.
  • Credit Chips do not work in the Dreamworld and appear blank. They are worth whatever you can get for them, but you will lose access to your credit account when you wake up. You will also have to deal with the galactic banking customer service center located on Bizmuth 5.

Victoriana

Angolia has surpassed using precious metals as everyday currency. The crown issues the Royal Cog which is represented using a coin composed of cheap metal that's artificially colored using a variety of scientific techniques. Angolia backs this currency with rings of precious metals that are worth hundreds of cogs.
  • Copper cogs are worth 1 unit.
  • SIlver cogs are worth 10 units.
  • Gold cogs are worth 100 units.
  • Pure Copper rings are worth 500 units
  • Pure Silver rings are worth 1000 units.
  • Pure Gold rings are worth 5000 units.

World War E

Many wastelanders only barter for what they need, preferring items over money. Large factions, like the Idol Sovereignty, back their own currency. The 'sovereign cap' for example has two denominations and are made out of industrial metals that have been shaped using the equipment at an old soda bottling factory. Old world currency also holds some value to the right merchants.
  • Pure Aluminum caps are worth a day's rations or a quarter gallon of gas.
  • Copper caps are worth 10 Pure Aluminum caps.
  • Barter Items have a value printed on them in Pure Aluminum caps.
  • Old world currency is worth $5 to 1 Pure Aluminum cap (That's $50 to each copper cap).
